Zentangle terminology

Paraphrased from The Book of Zentangle by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas:

Border: the area defined by the lines you draw between corner dots.

Corner dots: a pencil mark just inside the outside edges of a tile, one in each corner.

String: a line or lines that divide the area within a border into sections to be filled with tangles.

Tangle: as a noun, the word for a Zentangle(R) pattern; as a verb, to draw a tangle.

Tile: a piece of Zentangle paper.

Also (partly from the Zentangle website):

CZT(TM): Certified Zentangle Teacher, a person who has completed the Zentangle teacher training and is certified to teach same.

Monotangle: tangling only one tangle/pattern on a tile, perhaps with tangleations.

Pattern: synonymous with tangle.

Tangleation: a variation of a tangle by itself or in combination with one or more tangles; or mixing one or more basic tangles together in different proportions.

Zendala: a round Zentangle tile.
